Pilgrim Monument LightingLooking for an excuse to come to Cape Cod for the holidays? Don’t worry, we’ve got a million of them. Well, maybe not actually a million, but certainly a dozen or so really great ways to get you in the spirit and enjoy a little R and R too!

Let’s start with Thanksgiving… On Wednesday, November 26 the lighting of the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown  officially starts the holiday season with a special ceremony at 5:00PM. Our deluxe ocean-view rooms have a view across Cape Cod Bay to the Pilgrim Monument, so if you can’t make the ceremony itself, have your own ceremony in your Deluxe Ocean-View room at the Inn.

On Friday, November 28, the Heritage Museums and Gardens opens its “Gardens Aglow” event, which will run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night through December 28 from 4:30 to 8:30 PM. Thousands of tiny lights and holiday decorations festoon the extensive gardens, and music and dance performances will punctuate the evening at various venues throughout the grounds.

On Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30 the Tilden Arts Center at Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable (just down the street from our Inn) will play host to the “Sea Captain’s Nutcracker“. This innovative version of a holiday classic is set in a Chatham Sea Captain’s home in the 2020s and uses local history and folklore to retell the story with a Cape Cod theme.

Holidays at Highfield will return to Falmouth’s historic Highfield Hall with top designers showcasing their talents via holiday decor in the elegant rooms of this noted mansion. Beginning Saturday, November 29 and running through Sunday, December 7, the event will also feature a tea shop, gift gallery, and wreath display.

Brewster, Yarmouthport and Falmouth will host special holiday happenings during the weekend of December 5-7 allowing visitors and locals alike a chance to celebrate the season with carol singing, craft sales, inn tours and more. Dennis, Mashpee, and Chatham save their holiday events for the weekend of December 12-14 that showcase parades, bell ringers, hayrides, among other things.

The Hyannis Main Street Stroll and Harbor Lighting/Boat Parade takes place on Saturday, December 6. Beginning with Breakfast with Santa at 8:00 AM and culminating with the festive boat parade,  this event is sure to bring a smile to your face and something sweet to your lips.

Special First Night Events will take place in both Chatham and Sandwich on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2020  with town-wide performances, and activities for all ages. Promoted as alcohol-free, family friendly events First Night is a wonderful way to ring in the New Year.
